These students come from <br />primarily Hispanic families where often time parents have not completed high school, nor attended college. The <br />students have the drive to succeed but need a helping hand. <br />Primary Objectives <br />1) To recruit 54 high school seniors in the ten-month program which begins in September and ends in June <br />after high school graduation. <br />Task/Action <br />(A) Interview interested juniors in May — June, 2005 and seniors in August - September <br />(B) Get recommendations from teachers, counselors and Program Specialists <br />2) To recruit and train 54 professional men and women to serve as mentors to the students. <br />Task/Action <br />(A) Make recruitment presentations to local businesses <br />(I3) Send letters to all service clubs, and Chamber of Commerce in Santa Ana <br />�= x_ A <br />
