Page Two <br />Exhibit A <br />May 24, 2005 <br />(C) Send 50+ letters to previous mentors <br />(D) Conduct mandatory mentor training sessions from July 2003 — October 2003 <br />(E) Conduct background checks on all mentors through SAUSD Police Services <br />(F) Review resumes and match to student's interest in September/October 2003 <br />3) To hold 10 monthly dinner meetings (Mentor Nights) for students and mentors to educate students <br />concerning career and training opportunities, and to encourage networking between various students and <br />mentors. At least one of these meetings will be held at a local college or university. (10 meetings X 3 hours <br />X 54 students = 1,620 training hours). <br />Task/Action <br />(A) Establish schedule of programs and trips <br />(B) Recruit presenters from various professions <br />(C) Prepare discussion and handout materials for each meeting <br />(Preparing resumes, filling out applications, interviewing, etc.) <br />(D) Choose meeting sites and plan menus <br />4) To provide 200 hours of additional career/college guidance and enrichment activities at each of the high <br />schools for the students in the program (50 hours each quarter equaling a total of 800 hours of assistance). <br />Task/Action <br />(A) Identify one certificated teacher / advisor at each of the schools to coordinate program <br />(B) Arrange for additional career/educational guidance on and off campus <br />(C) Advisor sets appointment time with 20 students and plans <br />Funds from CDBG will be used to pay for administrative staff to operate the program. <br />1.
