MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />June 3, 1985 <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order at 1:21 p.m., in Room 147, Council <br />Chambers, 22 Civic Center Plaza by Mayor Daniel E. Griset. Council- <br />members present w~re John Acosta, Wilson B. Hart, P. Lee Johnson, R. <br />W. Lux~rabourger, Patricia A. Mc~uigan and Mayor Griset. Also present <br />were City Manager Robert C. Bobb, City Attorney ~dward J. Cooper and <br />Clerk of the Council Janice C. Guy. Councilm~mber Dan Young was ab- <br />sent. <br /> <br />WORKSTUDY SESSION <br /> <br />Bi-Annual Council Conference <br /> <br />Councilm~a~bers discussed possible dates and locations for their <br />bi-annual conference to discuss next year's policy initiatives. <br />Following a brief discussion, the Council tentatively decided on <br />August 9-11, 1985 at an out-of-town location, any place between San <br />Diego and Santa Barbara to be arranged by staff. The City Manager <br />indicated the Councilmembers would review possible agenda it,s for <br />the conference prior to preparation of the final agenda. <br /> <br />Capital Im~rov~ents Financing Program <br /> <br />David Ream, Project Director, for the Citywide Capital Improv~nents <br />Financing Program, provided a brief overview of the City's proposed <br />Financing Program, explaining the proposed bond issue would provide <br />sufficient funds for imple~nentation of projects contained in the cur- <br />rent master plan, as well as provide an impetus for significant pri- <br />vate investment. He reported that 12 financial consultants and six <br />bond counsels had responded to the City's Request for Proposals for <br />the Financing Program, and that staff was reco~ending an extr~ely <br />experienced team composed of Jones, Hall, Hill & White as bond coun- <br />sel; Rausch, Pierce Refsnes, Inc. as financial consultant; Goldman <br />Sachs and Ccmpany as Managing Underwriter; and four Co-managing <br />Underwriters including Drexel, Burnham and Lambert; First Boston Cor- <br />poration; Salomon Brothers, Inc.; and Shearson Lehman/knerican Ex- <br />press, Inc. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES <br /> <br />222 JUNE 3, 1985 <br /> <br /> <br />
