Councilm~uber Young reported on safety problems which had been brought <br />to his attention by a resident in his area relative to accessibility <br />to condominiu~ pools and inquired as to whether the City should take <br />action to provide more stringent constraints on access to such pools. <br />The City Attorney indicated he would provide the Council with a <br />recc~mendation in writing regarding this subject. <br /> <br />Mayor Griset informed the Council he would be introducing a committee <br />briefing system with the purpose of improving communications between <br />idea formation and implementation, and indicated that he would have <br />this process to the Council shortly. <br /> <br />The Mayor informed the Council that he had become aware of a progr~u <br />through his participation at the recent U.S. Conference of Mayors in <br />Alaska which recognized cities which contribute to the arts, and <br />expressed the opinion that Santa Ana, with its efforts relative to the <br />Pacific Symphony and the Bowers Museum, might be worthy of such <br />recognition. He also reported that he had accepted an assigrment to a <br />tax reform task force sponsored by the Conference.
