<br />1 PURPOSE <br /> <br />The purpose of this Request for Proposal (RFP) is to obtain a prime contractor to enter into a <br />contract with the City to perform preventive and extraordinary maintenance on the citywide traffic <br />signal system, advanced traffic management system, and street light system. <br /> <br />2 REQUIREMENTS <br /> <br />2.01 TRAFFlC SIGNAL MAINTENANCE <br /> <br />2.01.01 Scope of Work <br /> <br />The Contractor shall furnish all tools, equipment, apparatus, facilities, labors, services, training and <br />materials to perform all work necessary to maintain all traffic signal facilities in a good and worker- <br />like manner according to the proposal submitted and in accordance with these specifications. <br /> <br />The traffic signal maintenance portion of this contract does not cover safety light maintenance, <br />except damage to the combination of traffic signal and safety light pole due to malicious <br />mischief, traffic collision or nature causes. Maintenance of the traffic signal control system <br />located at the City's Traffic Management Center will be done as part of extraordinary <br />maintenance only. <br /> <br />2.01.02 <br /> <br />List of Signalized Intersections <br /> <br />See Appendix "A" for the list oftraffic signals, flashing beacons, and flashing crosswalks. <br /> <br />2.01.03 <br /> <br />Additions to Svstem <br /> <br />The Contractor shall maintain additional traffic signals and appurtenant devices as they are <br />installed, or become a part of the maintenance requirements of the City, at the same unit price. <br />In the event that notification is made of a new installation at other than the beginning of a <br />monthly period, the unit cost of routine maintenance will be pro-rated from the day the <br />Contractor is notified. <br /> <br />2.01.04 Routine Maintenance <br /> <br />The Contractor shall perform a complete inspection and service of each signalized intersection <br />once a month, not less than 25 days or more than 35 days apart, for safety, operation and <br />cleanliness. <br /> <br />The price bid for routine maintenance shall include but not be limited to the following services: <br /> <br />A. Monthlv Inspection and Service: <br /> <br />1. The Contractor shall clean the cabinets thoroughly on the inside, including all <br />components. <br /> <br />2. The Contractor shall replace air filters every 90 days and mark the installation date on the <br />top ofthe filter. <br /> <br />3. The Contractor shall check controller timing and timer schedule against the timing sheet <br />and notifY the City on any deviation. <br /> <br />1 <br />
