MINUTES OF THE ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING <br />OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />July 15, 1985 <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order at 10:50 a.m. by Mayor Daniel E. Griset in <br />Roc~ 831, City Hall, 20 Civic Center Plaza. Councilmembers present were <br />John Acosta, P. Lee Johnson, Patricia A. McGuigan, Dan Young and Mayor <br />Griset. Also present were City Manager Robert C. Bobb, City Attorney <br />Edward J. Cooper and Clerk of the Council Janice C. Guy. Councilmember <br />Wilson B. Hart joined the meeting at 11:17 a.m. Councilmember R. W. <br />Luxembourger was absent. <br /> <br />WORK STUDY SESSION <br /> <br />Budget Review <br /> <br />The Executive Director of Finance and Management Services reviewed revenue <br />sources for the City's 1985-86 operating budget, and responded to <br />Councilm~mbers' questions concerning sales tax projections, the City's <br />reserve fund, the generation of revenues from activities proposed by the <br />Visitors and Cultural Events Bureau, the water fund, refuse charges, and <br />other special funds. <br /> <br />At 11:55 a.m., the Council recessed and reconvened at 12:25 p.m. with the <br />same members present except Councilmember Acosta who rejoined the meeting <br />at 1:02 p.m. <br /> <br />The Executive Director of Finance and Manag~nent Services reviewed taxes <br />and benefits applicable to the typical average homeowner in the City. <br /> <br />visitor/Cultural Events Budget <br /> <br />The Visitor and Cultural Events Manager presented the Departn~nt's budget <br />outlining goals for the Visitor Center and Cultural Events, the two major <br />functional responsibilities of the Department~ She distributed samples of <br />publications which would be produced in Fiscal Year '86, and responded to <br />Councilmembers' questions on planned events such as the Wine and Harvest <br />Festival and the Ambassadors Ball. <br /> <br />Councilme~ber Young suggested a brochure be prepared which would describe <br />events held annually in the City, and also suggested that events be <br />rotated to areas other than the Downtown. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES <br /> <br />302 JULY 15, 1985 <br /> <br /> <br />
