Direct the City Attorney to prepare and authorize the City Manager <br />and the Clerk of the Council to execute a contract with the Orange <br />County Children's Therapeutic Arts Center to provide literacy and <br />basic skills through technology and the arts for ten out-of-school <br />youth from October I, 2005, through June 30, 2006, for an amount not <br />to exceed $17,826. <br /> <br />2. Direct the City Attorney to prepare and authorize the City Manager <br />and the Clerk of the Council to execute a contract with the <br />California Hispanic Commission on Alcohol and Drug Abuse to assist <br />thirty out-of-school youth with substance abuse problems and to find <br />jobs from October I, 2005, through June 30, 2006, for an amount not <br />to exceed $124,679. <br /> <br />3. Direct the City Attorney to prepare and authorize the City Manager <br />and the Clerk of the Council to execute a contract with the Orange <br />County Conservation Corps to provide paid on-the-job training for <br />twenty-three high school dropouts from October I, 2005, through June <br />30, 2006, for an amount not to exceed $168,771. <br /> <br />4. Direct the City Attorney to prepare and authorize the City Manager <br />and the Clerk of the Council to execute a contract with the Santa <br />Ana Unified School District to provide mentoring and paid work <br />experience for thirty in-school youth from October 1, 2005, through <br />June 30, 2006, for an amount not to exceed $120,000. <br /> <br />25E-1 <br />
