Authorize the Executive Director of the Community Development Agency <br />to execute the application and all documents relating thereto. <br /> <br />COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AND HOUSING COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION <br /> <br />Recommended that the City Council: <br /> <br />1. <br /> <br />Adopt a resolution approving submission of an application to <br />California Department of Housing and Community Development <br />$500,000 under the CalHome Program. <br /> <br />the <br />for <br /> <br />2. Authorize the Executive Director of the Community Development Agency <br />to execute the application and all documents relating thereto. <br /> <br />By a vote of 5:0 at its Regular Meeting of September 20, 2005. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION <br /> <br />The CalHome Program is a multi-faceted homeowners hip and rehabilitation <br />program created by the State of California that utilizes monies made <br />available by the passage of Proposition 46 in 2002. Its purpose is to <br />make funds available to local public agencies or nonprofit corporations <br />for a variety of programs that benefit low- and very low-income <br />households. The City of Santa Ana was previously awarded $350,000 in <br />2001 and $500,000 in 2004 to implement rehabilitation and replacement <br />manufactured housing loan programs.
