<br />CalHome Program Application <br />October 3, 2005 <br />Page 2 <br /> <br />utilized, and thirty-seven percent of the second grant has been committed <br />to projects. <br /> <br />The California Department of Housing and Community Development recently <br />announced the availability of an additional $25 million through the <br />CalHome Program. Under the proposed application, the City of Santa Ana <br />is requesting $500,000 to provide additional funds for the CalHome <br />Rehabili tation and Replacement Housing Program. If awarded, the grant <br />will be used to fund rehabilitation loans to qualified owners of single- <br />family homes and mobile homes located in the Ci ty of Santa Ana. Loan <br />funds will be used to correct unsafe, unhealthy or unsanitary conditions <br />in both single-family homes and mobile homes. The grant would also be <br />used to fund the Replacement Manufactured Housing component of the City's <br />existing program. <br /> <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br /> <br />By submitting this application, the City of Santa Ana will be eligible to <br />receive up to $500,000 in grant funds from the California Department of <br />Housing and Community Development. <br /> <br />~ tt 1J/dL <br /> <br />patricia C.
