<br />County of Orange <br /> <br />September 30, 2005 <br /> <br />33.4 "Clearances and Depths", Section A, "Separations from other cables, ducts, pipes and <br />structures", Items 3a "From Foreign Substructures, Independendy Installed"; "Supply cables <br />when independendy installed, shall be separated where practicable, from gas, water, oil, or other <br />pipe systems, or other foreign substructures, by a clearance of at least 12 inches when paralleling <br />and by at least 6 inches when crossing". <br /> <br />4. Existing SCE operating facilities shall be protected in place. Prior to starting work, the SCE <br />Transmission Design and Right Way representative, D. Ralph Martinez shall be notified of the <br />intended method of protection. The representative can be contacted at (714) 973-5418. The <br />representative shall also be notified at least 2 weeks in advance prior to any digging on or around <br />any underground facilities, so that SCE facilities can be de-energized and SCE stand-by <br />personnel can be scheduled. <br /> <br />5. It must be emphasized that these conditions are given from a review of conceptual/ proposed <br />plans, dated May 3, 2004, and July 11, 2005 submitted by County of Orange. Any changes in the <br />final plans may impose further conditions to this approval letter/ agreement. <br /> <br />6. Any modifications of or changes in approved plans that may affect SCE's property or facilities <br />must be approved, in writing, by SCE Real Estate Operations Division, prior to commencement <br />of development. <br /> <br />7. Construction area must be watered down periodically to prevent dust contamination of SCE's <br />insulators. Any maintenance required by SCE on its facilities over and above normal, and <br />resulting from this operation, shall be paid for by County of Orange. <br /> <br />8. The SCE property shall be left in a condition satisfactory to SCE. The cost to repair any damage <br />caused by County of Orange to the access roads, slopes, turnaround area, underground facilities <br />or overhead facilities shall be paid for by County of Orange. <br /> <br />9. County of Orange agrees that all construction equipment, when not in use, shall be parked clear <br />of SCE's property and rendered immobile <br /> <br />10. Any earth disturbed within SCE's property and/ or backfilling shall be compacted to 90 percent. <br /> <br />11. Fill shall be compacted throughout their full extent to a minimum of 90 percent of maximum <br />dry density as determined by A.S.T.M. Soil Compaction Test D-1557-78 and inspected and <br />approved by the County of Orange Resident Engineer for the Project. <br /> <br />12. County of Orange and the City of Santa Ana understand that SCE will be maintaining its <br />facilities, which includes washing of insulators. <br /> <br />13. Toxic or flammable materials are stricdy prohibited on SCE's property. <br /> <br />14. Servicing, refueling, maintenance and repair of equipment on SCE's property is stricdy <br />prohibited. <br /> <br />15. Underground facilities installed on the right of way shall have a minimum cover of three feet and <br />shall be capable of withstanding a gross load of 40 tons on a three-axle truck. <br /> <br />2 <br />
