<br />The City of Tustin owns and operates its water system scrving a population of
<br />approximately 63,500 people. The City provides approximately 14,300 acre-feet
<br />per year of potable water to approximately 14,500 customers. Tustin reccives 85
<br />percent of its water from groundwater and 15 percent from imported water. Water
<br />system facilities include 12 active wells, inclusive of five wells that undergo
<br />nitrate removal, 9.8 million gallons of storage in six reservoirs and three booster
<br />stations.

<br />Psomas prepared the City of Tustin 2000 Urban Water Management Plan Update
<br />during 2003-2004 in anticipation of eligibility for grant funding. Preparation
<br />included meetings with key City staff, information and data collection from key
<br />City documents and specific agencies, analysis of water sources, and supply and
<br />demand, coordination with regional agencies and programs, and preparation of
<br />draft, final draft and final plans. Final approval of the 2000 UWMP was received
<br />at the December 6, 2004, City Council meeting.
