<br />qualifications specified <br />additional twenty-four <br />(approximately 12%) above <br />monthly salary step. The <br />shall be as follows: <br /> <br />below shall be paid an <br />(24) salary rate ranges <br />his or her then current base <br />criteria for such designation <br /> <br />1. Completion of at least one hundred and twenty (120) <br />college semester units (or equivalent quarter <br />units) with major coursework in Fire Science, <br />Communications, or other related areas, which may <br />include studies in Chemistry, Computer Science, <br />Physics, Management, Public Administration, <br />Education, etc., from an accredited college or <br />university; and <br /> <br />2. Completion of at least eight (8) points. A minimum <br />of four (4) points must be selected from <br />Certificates (7.3.D1). A minimum of two points <br />must be selected from Specialized Duty Assignments <br />(see 7. 3 . D2) . <br /> <br />D. Elective Options. <br /> <br />1. <br /> <br />Possession of Certificates. <br /> <br />Points <br />2 <br /> <br />5 <br />1-5 <br /> <br />CPR Instructor-After successfully completing <br />their first class <br />EMT-Emergency Medical Technician <br />Any vocational certificates from an accredited <br />college relating to areas approved by the Fire <br />Chief, may be assigned from 2 to 5 points <br />Emergency Number Professional <br />Any seminars or workshops and/or updates <br />approved by the Fire Chief may be assigned from <br />1 to 5 points <br /> <br />2 <br />2-5 <br /> <br />2. <br /> <br />Specialized Duty Assignments. Completion of two <br />(2) years of service in specialized departmental <br />duty assignments in such units/programs as: <br /> <br />Points <br /> <br />1 Program Manager <br />1 Training Officer <br />1 Street Editor <br />1 Fireworks Program <br />1 FMZ CAD Programming <br />1 Location Builder/Premise Utility <br />1 VESTA <br /> <br />31 <br />
