<br />RESOLUTION NO. 2005-109 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SANTA ANA AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 2005-066 TO <br />SUPPLEMENT THE PROVISIONS PROVIDING FOR THE <br />CONTINUATION OF ADDITIONAL PARTIALLY-PAID <br />TEMPORARY MILITARY LEAVE OF ABSENCE FOR CITY <br />EMPLOYEES CALLED TO ACTIVE DUTY WITH THE <br />ARMED FORCES AND CONTINUATION OF BENEFITS <br />FOR THEIR DEPENDENTS <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS <br />FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby finds, determines <br />and declares as follows: <br /> <br />A. On July 5, 2005, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 2005-066, <br />which amended Resolution No. 2001-065 and extended until June 30, <br />2006, the provisions for an additional partially paid military leave of <br />absence for each full-time officer or employee of the City who has been or <br />will be called to active military service for more than 30 continuous days <br />with the Armed Forces of the United States in connection with the current <br />military crisis and for continuation of benefits for their dependents. <br /> <br />B. The United States military is now also currently calling reservists to active <br />military duty to assist in disaster relief efforts in the Gulf of Mexico region of <br />the United States. The City Council wishes to help those City employees <br />and their families with financial hardships resulting from being called to <br />active military duty for more than 30 continuous days in connection with the <br />disaster relief efforts in the Gulf of Mexico region. <br /> <br />Section 2. That Subsection "F" be added to Section 1 of Resolution No. 2005- <br />066 to read as follows: <br /> <br />The United States military is now also currently calling reservists to active <br />military duty to assist in disaster relief efforts in the Gulf of Mexico region of <br />the United States. The City Council wishes to help those City employees <br />and their families with financial hardships resulting from being called to <br />active military duty for more than 30 continuous days in connection with the <br />disaster relief efforts in the Gulf of Mexico region. <br /> <br />550-2 <br />
