- A need for non contract companies / associates to keep their taxis off the property
A White and Yelow Cab Inc. will send registered letters to each licensed taxi company in
Orange County informing them of the new contract. This letter will very nicely and tactfully
ask companies to keep their taxi drivers from loitering on property or stopping by to con-
verse. Also included will be instructions on when and how they may legally arrange to pick
up clients. Carolyn Fullerton will be asked to assist and review this letter.
A White and Yellow Cab Inc. non contract drivers will also be notified through the Digital
Dispatch System on a recurring basis that such behavior is inappropriate. All primary and
back up drivers for The Depot will have this issue covered in their integration meetings. The
company will be marking primary and back up driver's cars with a "T" decal to indicate they
are authorized by A White and Yellow Cab Inc. to serve at The Depot ( More on the "T" in
Day to Day Operations Section !) See Attachment 3.
A proposed sign will also be placed near the entrance to the taxi line, on a support pillar
advising of unauthorized soliciting or loitering by non - contract companies. This item is
upon approval of Carolyn Fullerton and The Depot. See Attachment 3.
Bandit taxi companies attempt to pick up at The Depot
A White and Yellow Cab Inc. will assist The Depot by maintaining a continuous and uninter-
rupted presence at The Depot, even during off peak hours. Our contention is that bandits
come in to an area when legitimate companies are not present. Most people know the differ-
ence between a marked, legitimate company and a private car. Our experience in Los Ange-
les and Santa Monica shows that when a familiar, legitimate taxi is present, the incentive to
save a few dollars with an unmarked car is always overpowered by the need for safety.
A White and Yellow Cab Inc. drivers will also have this issue covered in their integration
meeting. Drivers are encouraged to contact OCTAP with specific details to discourage
repeat offenders.
The scheduled hiring of additional security by the depot by Carolyn Fullerton will also
discourage this problem.
- The need for the new contractor to provide service excellence
While the current satisfactory, service, we are able to provide better
service. We offer experienced drivers, training, and our qualitYassarance-programs. More
details are provided throughout the proposal.
/ //
