VI. Digital Dispatch
A Taxi Cab uses the DDS Taxi Track system for all vehicles. The GPS satellite
system brings technology to our drivers and a leap in response times and customer
service. A Taxi Cab has 6 call taker stations and a supervisor's station to dispatch
by computer to all fleet vehicles.
The System Manager configures the system to meet dispatching requirements,
maintains the accuracy of the database, and monitors system performance. System
Manager will have an overall view of the operation and be responsible for
implementing system protocols on a daily basis during our transition time.
Supervisors of the system identify and resolve problems with trips, drivers, and the
system on a shift basis. They will be the overseer of daily operations and
coordinate routine scheduling of your corporate accounts and reservations.
Call Takers enter, dispatch, and recall trip details through the system to provide
the driver up to date and instant pick up information. Call Takers are able to give
extremely accurate Estimated Times of Arrival through the use of the GPS satellite
system, thereby increasing response times significantly.
Your duty as a driver is to operate your GDT mobile terminal in an efficient
manner to respond to calls. You will respond within 15 minutes to calls in your
zone and no more than 20 outside of your zones.
The system is able to track you, your status, and send you on calls in a planned,
coordinated manner. Additionally, you will find the automatic call out features
convenient along with the credit card swipe, eliminating the need for bulky card
machines and delays in approval of charges.
(Attached is the Driver Digital Dispatch Training Manual)
VII.
