<br />CITY COUNCIL MEETING DATE: <br /> <br />~ <br />~ <br /> <br />REQUEST FOR <br />COUNCIL ACTION <br /> <br />CLERK OF COUNCIL USE ONLY: <br /> <br />FEBRUARY 6, 2006 <br /> <br />TITLE: <br /> <br />APPROVED <br /> <br />SECOND RENEWAL OPTION TO <br />AGREEMENT FOR STEAM CLEANING <br />SIDEWALKS IN DOWNTOWN SANTA <br />ANA, SOUTH MAIN CORRIDOR AND <br />THE DEPOT <br /> <br />o As Recommended <br />o As Amended <br />o Ordinance on 1" Reading <br />o Ordinance on 2" Reading <br />o Implementing Resolution <br />o Set Public Hearing For <br /> <br />A OIt!E:NAGER <br /> <br />CONTINUED TO <br /> <br />FILE NUMBER <br /> <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br /> <br />Direct the City Attorney to prepare and authorize the City Manager and <br />the Clerk of the Council to execute the second renewal of the Agreement <br />with TSCM Corporation for steam cleaning Downtown, South Main Corridor <br />and The Depot sidewalks and sweeping service for The Depot in an amount <br />not to exceed $310,000. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION <br /> <br />Currently the Downtown Santa Ana steam cleaning program allows for three <br />linear blocks to be cleaned each night, five nights a week, Wednesday <br />through Sunday on all maj or and secondary arterials in Downtown Santa <br />Ana. The colored sidewalks in the South Main Street Corridor area are <br />cleaned three times a year. Addi tionally, The Depot's steam cleaning <br />program allows for the parking structure to be cleaned annually, the <br />walkways to be cleaned semi -annually, and the bus bays to be cleaned <br />quarterly. The Depot's sweeping program allows for the service lots and <br />curbs at all entrances to be swept three times per week and the parking <br />structure to be swept two times per week. <br /> <br />On February 2, 2004, the City Council awarded an agreement to TSCM <br />Corporation for steam cleaning services in Downtown Santa Ana for a 12- <br />month period with two renewal options. On November 7, 2005, the City <br />Council amended the contract to include the secondary streets to be <br />cleaned in Downtown Santa Ana and the colored sidewalks in the South Main <br />Street Enhancement Project area. The second renewal with TSCM will <br />ensure the continued steam cleaning services for the Downtown, South <br />Main, and the Santa Ana Depot through December 31, 2006. <br /> <br />25L-1 <br />
