MOTION: McGuigan SECOND: Acosta <br /> <br />VOTE: AYES: Acosta, Griset, Hart, May, McGuigan, Pulido, Young <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />COMMENTS <br /> <br />PUBLIC COI~4ENTS <br /> <br />Bob Kerr, Chairman of the Transportation Advisory Committee, requested the <br />Council explore measures to mitigate traffic problems anticipated during <br />the closure of the First and Fourth Street bridges (part of the Interstate <br />5 Freeway widening project), as well as allocate additional funding for <br />traffic enforcement during the closure period. <br /> <br />Hartley Mill, 617 S. Starboard, requested assistance from the Council with <br />respect to avoiding payment of special charges levied by Comcast Cable. <br />The City Attorney indicated that Mr. Mill had a choice with respect to <br />contracting or not contracting for cable television. <br /> <br />Patricia Green, 2222 W. 2nd Street, addressed Council expressing <br />continuing problems with the vagrants and clients of the Mission in the <br />neighborhood of her employer, Mike Kuhl Enterprises. The City Manager <br />responded to Ms. Green indicating that several City departments were <br />collaborating to mitigate that situation. The Mayor informed Ms. Green <br />that he had met with the Orange County Sheriff who indicated there was no <br />room in the jail to accept vagrants. The Mayor indicated the City would <br />continue to search for solutions to this matter. <br /> <br />Miles Leach, 2025 W. Tenth Street, urged the Council to discuss drugs, not <br />in terms of their "street value" but in terms of their "street burden" to <br />the taxpayer. <br /> <br />go.c.
