Each paramedic van <br />has one Zoll biphasic 12-lead defibrillator that allows the paramedics <br />to pass the patient diagnostic information verbally to the local <br />hospitals for additional medical assistance. To enhance the medical <br />readiness of the Santa Ana Fire Department, the Fire staff recommends <br />placing a smaller Zoll Automated External Defibrillator (AED) in all <br />Fire Department buildings and each fire vehicle, a total of 65. <br />Additionally, the Santa Ana Jail maintains a 480-bed holding facility, <br />which houses Federal, Santa Ana and juvenile inmates. The State <br />Department of Correction's recent facility inspection recommended three <br />Automated External Defibrillators (AED) to be placed at the Jail. <br />22G-1 <br />~, ,n3 <br />
