Noted that he received a message that there are plans by the Jaguar <br />dealership in the Auto Mall to expand and bring in Land Rover <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER CHRISTY <br />. Requested that the town hall meeting on the Bristol Street Corridor be <br />held within the next two weeks and noted that the project will impact <br />everyone around Bristol Street <br />. Alerted residents that over 300,000 cars recovered from the Katrina <br />disaster are reported to be in California and cautioned residents to be <br />careful when purchasing a used car <br />. Asked the Council to adjourn in memory of noted civil rights leader <br />Coretta Scott King <br /> <br />MAYOR PRO TEM BIST <br />. Thanked the residents from Logan neighborhood who addressed the <br />Council in support of the improvements made in the area, and asked <br />staff to provide an update on permit parking request from Logan <br />residents <br />. Asked that the Community Redevelopment and Housing Commission <br />review available properties in the Logan vicinity <br />. Reported that the Council is revisiting the shopping cart issue and that <br />changes in the provisions should be considered in the next few months <br />. Noted that the Council is dealing with the issue of urban blight and that <br />there was an agreement approved on tonight's agenda with an urban <br />developer consultant; she further noted that all stakeholders will be <br />contacted by the consultants <br />. Asked staff to distribute the results of the Olson Lofts survey to all <br />members of the City Council <br />. Asked staff to look at the need for more policing activity at Festival Hall <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER ALVAREZ <br />. Noted that the Council is actively looking at ways to improve the <br />downtown area and thanked all the loft residents who filled out and <br />returned the survey <br />. Congratulated the Santa Ana officers that were recognized by MADD <br />for their efforts in drunk driving arrests and citations <br />. Asked staff to investigate a complaint by a constituent that there was <br />only one lane open on Main Street even though there was no road <br />construction going on in the area <br />.
