75.E. 1989-90 BUDGET <br /> <br />The Mayor announced the Budget item would be continued to August 7, 1989. <br /> <br />RECESSED TO CLOSED SESSION - 9:27 P.M. <br /> <br />The Clerk of the Council announced the Council was recessing to Closed <br />Session pursuant to Government Code Section 54956.9(a) to confer with the <br />City Attorney regarding pending litigation which had been initiated <br />formally, and to which the City was a party, to wit, Conner vs. City of <br />Santa Aha and Pitzer vs. City of Santa Aha (Worker's Compensation); and <br />pursuant to Government Code Section 54957.6 to meet with its designated <br />representatives regarding labor relations matters. <br /> <br />RECONVENED - 10:42 P.M. - All Councilmembers present except Mayor Young. <br /> <br />CLOSED SESSION REPORT <br /> <br />MOTION: <br /> <br />l) Authorize settlement of Pitzer vs. City of Santa Ana (Worker's <br /> Compensation), compromise and release in the amount of <br /> $8,000.00. PUBLIC COMMENTS <br /> <br />Miles Leach, 2025 W. Tenth Street, expressed concern that the installation <br />of traffic diverters in the Washington Square Neighborhood would not solve, <br />but add to traffic problems. <br /> <br />Jerry Austin, 1329 W. Sharon Road, requested assistance from the Council <br />with funding for the Hickory Tree Day Care Center. Councilmember May <br />requested staff explore possible ways to assist Mr. Austin. <br /> <br />Jon Turner, Santa Ana resident, encouraged the cancellation of the Gay <br />Pride event. <br /> <br />Florence Leach, 2025 W.
