Councilmember Griset expressed his thanks to the City Attorney for his <br />presence at the Council meeting in spite of the action taken by a majority <br />of the Councilmembers to place him on administrative leave at a previous <br />Council meeting. <br /> <br />Councilmember May encouraged the listening audience to vote on Election <br />Day, November 7, 1989. <br /> <br />Mayor Pro Tem Acosta requested staff review its noticing procedures with <br />respect to upcoming agenda items. <br /> <br />Mayor Young urged Councilmembers to carefully review the Bristol Corridor <br />Redevelopment Project in the next two weeks, and particularly to weigh the <br />impact of exempting properties from the Project area. <br /> <br />The Mayor indicated he would, per his usual practice, contact <br />Councilmember Norton directly on items of City interest. He also stated <br />that in instances where he {the Mayor) felt an illegal or criminal act had <br />been committed, he would notify the proper authorities. <br /> <br />RECESSED TO CLOSED SESSION - ROOM 147 - 12:14 A.M. <br /> <br />The Clerk of the Council announced the Council was recessing to Closed <br />Session pursuant to Government Code Section 54956.9{a) to confer with the <br />City Attorney regarding pending litigation which had been initiated <br />formally, and to which the City was a party, to wit: <br /> <br />Stebbins vs. City of Santa Ana (Worker's Compensation) <br />Seltzer vs. City of Santa Ana <br />Levison vs. City of Santa Ana <br />Pelletier vs. City of Santa Ana (Worker's Compensation) <br />Sevilla vs. City of Santa Aha <br />Jacobs vs. City of Santa Aha {Worker's Compensation), <br /> <br />pursuant to Government Code Section 54956.9{b)(1) regarding pending <br />litigation of significant exposure, and pursuant to Government Code <br />Section 54957 to consider personnel matters. <br /> <br />12:35 A.M. - Councilmember Griset left Closed Session. <br /> <br />RECONVENED - COUNCIL CHAMBERS - 1:02 A.M. - All Councilmembers present. <br /> <br />70.A. <br /> <br />MOTION: <br /> <br />CLOSED SESSION REPORT <br /> <br />Authorize settlements as follows: <br /> <br />Stebbins vs. City of Santa Ana {Worker's Compensation), <br />compromise and release in the amount of $22,424.76. <br /> <br />Pelletier vs. City of Santa Ana (Worker's Compensation), <br />compromise and release in the amount of $10,900.00. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES <br /> <br />334 <br /> <br />NOVEMBER 6, 1989 <br /> <br /> <br />
