Legacy Construction, Inc., the lowest <br />in accordance with unit bid prices in the <br />$386,829.12 for construction of Patricia Lane <br /> <br />2. Approve a Funding Analysis with a total estimated construction cost <br />of $483,600. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION <br /> <br />The City received Transportation Enhancement Activities Federal grant <br />funding for land acquisition, design, and scenic enhancement of the nine <br />vacant parcels bordered by the Santa Ana Freeway, Patricia Lane, Eastside <br />Avenue, and Sixth Street (Exhibit 1). These parcels became remnant <br />parcels as a result of the freeway-widening project. <br /> <br />The scenic enhancement project includes site grading, construction of new <br />sidewalk, decorative colored walkway, block wall, landscaping, irrigation <br />systems, and installation of playground equipment. Once completed, these <br />improvements will provide an attractive scenery and park playground for <br />the neighborhood and motorists traveling on the freeway. <br /> <br />The Notice Inviting Bids was advertised on January 11 and 13, 2006, and <br />bids were opened on February 13, 2006. A summary of the bid invitations <br />mailed, the bids received, and the bid results follows. <br /> <br />23A-1 <br />
