The <br />ratio of adult interaction to WIA participants for the structured workshops will be <br />one (1) adult to every 15 youth. The mentoring program will have a ratio of two <br />adults to four youth. The WIA participant will have adult interaction with La <br />Familia's staff as required on a case-by-case basis up to six times per week. <br />Interaction with mentors will occur at least twice per month. <br />LC. GOALS/OBJECTIVES AND PERFORMANCE LFVEI.S <br />Number of Youth Served and WIA Program Elements -Figure 1 below <br />provides expanded performance goals for this program. It also includes process <br />objectives for each of the identified outcomes. <br />Fi ure 1: Goals and Ob'ectives <br />THE FOLLOWING EMPLOYMENT•RELATED GOALS AND OBJECTIVES WILL BE ACHIEVED: <br />Overall Goal: To retain 45 or more low-income, out-of school, older youth (19 to 21) through the <br />entire training program and place at least 99 percent of these youth in jobs that pay a minimum <br />of $8.00 per hour andlor are in a fulltime postsecondary education program, <br />Outcome Objective #1: To recruit, assess, and place 45 unemployed youth over the period of one year. <br />s Process Obiective #1: Strengthen linkages with the Youth Provider Network by referring the <br />participants to other partners for services; <br />y Process Obiective #2: Create marketing materials about the program and distribute them in areas <br />that are centers of population for out-of-school youth; <br />Process Obiective #3: Work closely with parents to recruit their unemployed children into the <br />program; <br />v Process Obiective #4: Refer approximately 90% of unemployed parents of the youth to other training <br />programs and <br />v Process Obiective #5: Ensure that approximately 200 youth including foster care youth, emancipated <br />outh, outh offenders, etc., are recruited in order to retain 45 eli ible outh. <br />Outcome Objective #2: Place approximately 70% of youth who complete the program into jobs that pay a <br />minimum of $8.00 er hour. <br />n Process Obiective #1: Utilize afull-time job development counselor to create a continuous flow of <br />work opportunities 100% of the time; <br />n Process Obiective #2: Continue our relationship with employers as secondary partners in this effort; <br />n Process Obiective #3: Market and educate at least 50 new employers in order to increase their <br />receptivity to hiring young, inexperienced, low-income youth; and <br />r Process Obiective #4: Organize and host a Job Fair during which prospective employers agree to <br />hire ro ram raduates. <br />Outcome Objective #3: Ensure that at least 80% of the youth placed retain their jobs for six months or <br />more. <br />Process Obiective #1: Provide job retention counseling to 100% of the youth placed in jobs; and <br />i Process Obiective #2: Assist 90% or more of the youth to enroll in educational programs and work- <br />related courses. <br />Outcome Objective #4: Approximately 30% of the youth will experience a wage gain of 60% or more from <br />ro ram be innin to ro ram com letion. <br />i Process Objective #1: A roximatel 30% of the ne otiated wa es will include erformance-related <br />n <br />
