Gender-Specific Issues for Girls/Young Women <br />:• To Be a Man: Gender-S ecific Issues for Bo s/Young Men <br />In addition to the provision of service at La Familia, CHCADA will also <br />offer community-based services to youth and their families at other community <br />sites, as outlined in Figure 9 below. <br />of Services <br />• Active Case Management in enrolling each participant into a community school and/or <br />vocational program within 24 hours of their intake into the program; <br />• Monitoring school/vocational program attendance on a daily basis during the first four <br />weeks after enrollment, bi-weekly during month two and weekly thereafter; <br />^ Identifying and providing academic tutoring as requested to address academic problems; <br />^ Promoting the involvement of the youth in work or play as a means of better integrating them <br />into the workplace; <br />• Provide continuing career counseling to the youth, including follow-up counseling; <br />• Providing substance abuse treatment/recovery and/or prevention activities for youth who <br />require such services; <br />• Within 48 hours of their intake, actively place youth in health programs, mental health <br />programs, literacy programs, etc., as needed; <br />• Before and after pro ram completion actively assist the families of the youth in <br />20 <br />
