PUBLIC COMMENTS <br /> <br />Jim Walker, 3721S. Ross, requested assistance from the Council with <br />funding for mitigation measures to decrease the impacts of the Hutton <br />Centre and MacArthur Place developments on the Sandpointe neighborhood. <br /> <br />The Mayor requested that staff prepare a financing plan for the <br />Sandpointe Improvement Plan adopted at the August 20, 1990 Council <br />meeting (Minutes page 259). <br /> <br />Councilmember Pulido requested that staff develop a City-wide policy <br />regarding mitigating the impacts of high-intensity developments. <br /> <br />Coween Dickerson, 3941 S. Bristol, #ESO, advised the Council of problems <br />she was having wi th the Building Department in obtaining a re-roofing <br />permit for her home at 2121 S. Salta. <br /> <br />90.B. CITY COUNCIL COMMENTS <br /> <br />In response to Councilmember Norton's question, the Police Chief and Fire <br />Chief responded that no public safety personnel had yet been impacted due <br />to their reserve status by the Iraqi conflict, but indicated they would <br />develop contingency plans to replace such personnel in the event they <br />were called to duty. <br /> <br />In response to Councilmember Pulido, the Police Chief indicated the <br />Department would be proceeding with preventive measures regarding illegal <br />discharge of firearms during the upcoming Hispanic holiday, and that he <br />would provide a status report to the Council following the event. <br />Councilmember Pulido suggested staff consider the possible banning of <br />sales of large amounts of ammunition prior to any major holidays. <br /> <br />Councilmember Pulido thanked staff for its efforts with regard to the <br />Census count, and requested an analysis of the fiscal impacts of the <br />Census in Santa Aha vis-a-vis other County cities. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES 281 SEPTEMBER 4, 1990 <br /> <br /> <br />
