<br />\.- <br /> <br />\.... <br /> <br />\,... <br /> <br />SANTA ANA CITY COUNCIL COMMITTEE <br />PUBLIC SAFETY <br />Minutes of Meeting <br />August 18, 2003 <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br />The meeting was convened at 4:35 p.m. in the Police Department 4th Floor <br />Conference Room, 60 Civic Center Plaza, Santa Ana, California. <br /> <br />ATTENDANCE <br />Councilmembers present: Mayor Pro Tem Brett Franklin, Councilmembers <br />Alberta Christy, Claudia Alvarez (Absent). <br /> <br />Staff present: Assistant City Attorney Paula Coleman; Police Chief Paul Walters; <br />Fire Chief Marc Martin; Fire Marshal Lori Smith; Police Lieutenant Tony Levatino <br />and Sergeant Larry Coleman. <br /> <br />Public present: Mr. Jim Walker <br /> <br />SUMMARY OF DISCUSSIONS <br /> <br />1. APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> <br />The Minutes of the July 21,2003 meeting were approved. <br /> <br />2. REPORT ON FIREWORKS BOOTHS <br /> <br />Chief Martin and Lori Smith reviewed the list of approved 2003 fireworks <br />booths and their locations. Chief Martin stated that a questionable group <br />will attend the next meeting to discuss their eligibility. Only one booth had <br />to be shut down because of Ordinance violations. <br /> <br />3. RED LIGHT ENFORCEMENT UPDATE <br /> <br />Tony Levatino updated the Committee on camera locations throughout the <br />City that are now actively issuing citations. He also reviewed the process <br />involved when citations are issued. <br />
