<br />'- <br /> <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA <br />CITY COUNCIL COMMITTEE ON <br />TECHNOLOGY <br /> <br />Minutes of Regular Meeting <br />June 11, 2003 <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />The meeting convened at 5:40 p.m. in Room 831, City Hall, 20 Civic Center Plaza, <br />Santa Ana, California <br /> <br />ATTENDANCE <br /> <br />City Council Committee members present: Claudia Alvarez and Lisa Bist <br /> <br />\. <br /> <br />Staff members present: Debra Kurita, Assistant City Manager; Tom Gergen, <br />Information Systems Manager; Pat Healy, Clerk of t he Council; Rob Richard, Library <br />Director; Gerardo Mouet, Assistant Director, Parks, Recreation and Community <br />Services Agency; Virginia Adame, Sr. Recreation Supervisor, Parks, Recreation and <br />Community Services Agency; Corporal Robert Faster, Santa A na Police Department; <br />Sergeant Nick Rubbo, Santa Ana Police Department; and, Alma Flores, Senior <br />Management Assistant, City Manager's Office <br /> <br />AGENDA ITEMS <br /> <br />Approval of Minutes for Meeting of March 12, 2003 (Bist, Alvarez) <br /> <br />City Telephone System Upgrade Project <br /> <br />Tom Gergen, Information Systems Manager, presented an update on the <br />telephone system upgrade project. Mr. Gergen stated that this item would be on <br />the Council Agenda of June 16, 2003. The existing contract with Business <br />Network Solutions, Inc. will be expanded to upgrade the telephone systems and <br />maintenance services at several City locations. The enhanced systems will <br />upgrade the 17-year old main telephone switch for which the manufacturer has <br />discontinued replacement parts and support. Upgrades will also be made to <br />nineteen other City telephone sub-systems including Fire Department facilities, <br />Park and Recreation sites, the City Yard and the Train Depot. These phone <br />subsystems range in age from 13 to 20 years old. The cost of the expanded <br />work is estimated at $700,000 <br /> <br />\. <br />
