<br />"-' <br /> <br />The new agreement with the two promoters will generate an additional $37,000 in <br />revenue. <br />ACTION ITEM: <br />1) Council Committee requested what type of background checks are available on <br />carnival employees. <br />2) Council Committee requested the possibility of including in the contract that <br />City has the right to reject any particular carnival operator. <br /> <br />4. <br /> <br />NUMBER OF CARNIVALS AUTHORIZED <br />Staff presented the history on the number of carnivals to be held on city parks. <br />City Council approved, on January 18, 2000, to restrict the number of carnivals to <br />six park sites (Centennial, Jerome, Madison, Cesar Chavez Campesino, Rosita, <br />and EI Salvador.) Council also indicated that no more than eight carnivals per <br />year will be held at the approved park sites, and no more than two carnivals per <br />year at each site. <br /> <br />The new agreement will continue Council's position of no more than eight <br />carnivals per year, and only two at each site. The agreement will also restrict the <br />carnivals to four park sites (Centennial, Jerome, Cesar Chavez Campesino. and EI <br />Salvador). <br /> <br />The City Council Committee, after discussing the possibility of increasing the <br />number of carnivals per year, elected not to increase the number. <br /> <br />"" <br /> <br />5. <br /> <br />PUBLIC COMMENTS <br />None <br /> <br />6.
