<br />'-" <br /> <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA <br />EDUCATION AND YOUTH PROGRAMS <br />CITY COUNCIL COMMITTEE <br />February 6, 2003 <br /> <br />MINUTES <br /> <br />The meeting was convened at 5:50 p.m. in the City Hall, Room 831. <br /> <br />The following Council Members were present: Alberta Christy <br />Mike Garcia <br /> <br />Staffs present were: Jon "Rip" Ribble, Exec. Dir., PRCSA <br />Gerardo Mouet, Asst. Dir., PRCSA <br />Ron Ono, Admin/Design Mgr., PRCSA <br />Lorraine L. McCarty, Community Affairs Manager, PRCSA <br /> <br />1. APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />ACTION: Minutes of November 7,2002 meeting were approved as submitted. <br /> <br />2. <br /> <br />YOUTH EXPO UPDATE <br />Staff presented an update of the fourth annual Youth Expo event scheduled for <br />Sunday, March 16, 2003, from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. The event will be <br />conducted at Centennial Regional Park. <br /> <br />"" <br /> <br />Posters were delivered to the Santa Ana Unified School District, Garden Grove <br />Unified School District, Parochial and private schools. Approximately 1 ,000 <br />flyers were delivered to each intermediate and high school. Every elementary <br />school student will also be given a flyer to take home. The flyers will also be <br />distributed at libraries and other governmental buildings. Food and drink will be <br />sold by local high school and college groups as a fund raiser and incentive for <br />the student participation at this event. <br /> <br />The Santa Ana Unified School District will be co-sponsoring the event by <br />assigning staff and communicating information to the students. <br /> <br />To date, the following organizations have confirmed their attendance at the Expo: <br />. Academy of International Dance <br />. UCI Medical Center <br />. Hometown Buffet <br />. Orange County Fire Ant Authority <br />. Santa Ana Work Force Investment Board Youth Council <br />.
