CITY COUNCIL COMMENTS <br />Councilmember Norton commented that a new Chancellor, Vivian Blevans, had been <br />appointed at Rancho Santiago Community College. <br />Councilmember Acosta recognized Hoover Elementary School students for creating the giant <br />"Red Ribbon" pledge card on display in the Council Chambers and thanked Council Services <br />Manager Lorraine Lazarine for her assistance in conducting "Red Ribbon Week" activities on <br />his behalf. Acosta also thanked the Police and Fire Departments for their recent assistance <br />to the Blind Children's Learning Center following several break-ins at the Center's property <br />on North Broadway. <br />Councilmember Acosta expressed a "welcome home" to Jake Thomas who had fallen out of a <br />tree last February and returned to his home in the last week. <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES 330 NOVEMBER 4, 1991 <br />
