The following methods are not recommended when repairing or replacing roofs: <br />• The use of materials or colors that are inappropriate to the style of the residence. <br />• Patching roofs with materials or color that do not match the rest of the residence. <br />• Patching Spanish tile roofs by "dumping" mortar on cracked tiles. <br />• Radically changing or destroying roof design features such as fascia boards, rafter tails, attic <br />vents, dormers, eyebrows, cupolas, cresting, and other similar architectural features. <br />• Rolled roofing material and rock roofs. <br />• Applying Spanish design tile roofs to any architectural style other than Spanish Colonial <br />Revival. <br />• Eaves and soffets should not be boxed or altered in a manner that affects the original design. <br />36 <br />Resolution No. 2006-022 <br />Page 42 of 71 <br />
