Councilmember Acosta stated that several towing companies had asked him why an exclusive <br />contract to tow City vehicles was awarded to Ben Warner without going to bid. The City <br />Manager responded he would investigate. <br /> <br />Councilmember Acosta requested City staff repair a hole in the fence between Riverview <br />Golf Course and Alona Park to protect the public from getting hit by golf balls. <br /> <br />Councilmember Acosta asked for an update on the produce truck issue that came up in the <br />last Council meeting. Mayor Pro Tem Pulido reported he had met with Police Chief Paul <br />Walters and the produce truck vendors on the issue, and invited Councilmember Acosta to <br />attend future meetings on how to enforce the relevant laws fairly and evenly. <br /> <br />Councilmember Acosta suggested Viola Myre replace Zeke Hernandez on the Housing <br />Advisory Commission and requested her nomination be included in the June 1, 1992 Council <br />Agenda. <br /> <br />Councilmember McGuigan requested the City Manager develop an information program for <br />the media and the general public that would showcase the City's neighborhood associations, <br />"Weed and Seed" programs, economic development plans, Problem-Oriented Policing, and <br />other programs the City had successfully used to create a positive and cohesive community. <br />The City Manager responded that he would look into the matter. <br /> <br />RECESSED TO CLOSED SESSION - ROOM 147 - 10:12 P.M. <br /> <br />The Assistant Clerk of the Council announced the City Council was recessing to Closed <br />Session pursuant to: <br /> <br />Government Code Section 54956.9(a) to confer with the City Attorney regarding pending <br />litigation which had been initiated formally into which the City was a party to wit: <br /> <br />Statom vs. City of Santa Ana (Workers' Compensation) <br />Fuentes vs. City of Santa Ana <br />Bradshaw vs. City of Santa Ana <br />Wagstaff vs. City of Santa Ana (Workers' Compensation) <br />Browne vs. City of Santa Ana (Workers' Compensation) <br />City of Santa Ana vs. Warwick Square (Subrogation) <br /> <br />and pursuant to: <br /> <br />Government Code Section 54956.9(c) to decide whether to initiate litigation. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES 157 MAY 18, 1992 <br /> <br /> <br />
