WORK STUDY SESSION <br />• Section 911 — Currently states that Personnel Board members shall <br />not hold public office or employment <br />• Revise to state that members shall not hold public office or <br />employment in City of Santa Ana government <br />• Section 912 — Personnel Board hears appeals pertaining to <br />suspension, demotion or dismissal of employees <br />• Revise to state that Board hears appeals that pertain to disciplinary <br />actions only <br />COMMENTS <br />PUBLIC COMMENTS <br />Lisann Martinez raised concerns relative to the City Manager's place of <br />residence <br />Alma Ramirez addressed the Council relative to general concerns and <br />was warned by the Chair to limit her remarks to topics within the <br />jurisdiction of the Council and to use appropriate language <br />Robert Reade addressed the Council and was also warned by the Chair to <br />use appropriate language <br />Beatriz Salas of the Bristol/Warner Neighborhood thanked <br />Councilmembers Solorio and Christy for attending the neighborhood <br />festival <br />CITY COUNCIL COMMENTS <br />Councilmember Garcia <br />• Announced that the Relay for Life event will be held the weekend of <br />June 3rd and 4th <br />• Thanked all the residents who participated in the May 1st events <br />throughout the city and noted that these events were very peaceful; <br />also thanked the Chief of Police for all the efforts by his department. <br />Councilmember Solorio <br />• Announced that the annual Celebrate Santa Ana event would be held <br />at Delhi Center on May 11th at 5:30 p.m. <br />• Noted that on May 20, 2006 there will be a groundbreaking at <br />Saddleback View Park at 11:00 a.m. <br />• Thanked Beatriz Salas for her efforts in coordinating the Bristol/Warner <br />Neighborhood festival <br />• Thanked all the schools and teachers that talked to their students <br />about the importance of attending school today <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES 148 MAY 1, 2006 <br />
