Award a contract to States Link Construction, Inc. , the lowest <br /> responsible bidder, In accordance with unit bid prices in the <br /> estimated amount of $1,299,000 for the renovation of El Salvador <br /> Center and park improvements. <br /> <br />2. Approve a Funding Analysis with a total estimated construction cost <br />of $1,570,000. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION <br /> <br />This project will provide for the renovation of the existing recreation <br />center building and the courtyard at El Salvador Park (Exhibit 1). <br />Improvements include re-roofing, air-conditioning and electrical system <br />upgrades, restroom upgrades to meet Americans with Disability Act (ADA) <br />requirements and refurbish the existing cultural arts room. This project <br />will also include the installation of a new wrought iron fence, <br />replacement of the existing pavement with new concrete pavement. Once <br />completed, the project will enhance recreational opportunities for <br />children in the adjacent neighborhoods. <br /> <br />On November 7, 2005, bids were rejected and staff was authorized to re- <br />advertise the project. The Notice Inviting Bids was advertised on April <br />5 and 7, 2006, and bids were opened on May 4, 2006.
