Award a contract to All American Asphal t, the lowest responsible <br />bidder, in accordance with unit bid prices in the estimated amount of <br />$3,090,348 for construction of Civic Center Drive Rehabilitation and <br />Lowell Sewer Main Improvements. <br /> <br />2. Approve a Funding Analysis with a total estimated construction cost <br />of $3,864,900. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION <br /> <br />The segment of Civic Center Drive between Fairview and Flower Streets has <br />been identified as a high priority on the City's Pavement Management <br />System (Exhibit 1). The pavement is deteriorating due to weather, age and <br />heavy usage. Some of the adjacent curbs, gutter, sidewalks and driveway <br />approaches are also in various states of disrepair and require <br />replacement. The project provides for construction of new street includes <br />the replacement of 400 feet of deteriorated and undersized sewer main <br />along Lowell Street north of Civic Center Drive. Once completed, these <br />improvements will enhance the ride quality, surface drainage and visual <br />appearance of Civic Center Drive and sewer capacity at Lowell Street. <br /> <br />The Notice Inviting Bids was advertised on April 17 and 19, 2006, and <br />bids were opened on May 10, 2006. A surmnary of the bid invitations <br />mailed, the bids received, and the bid results follows. <br /> <br />23A-1 <br />
