FY 93/94 CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM <br /> <br />City Engineer George Alvarez reported on the City's FY 93/94 CIP projects and showed <br />slides highlighting such projects as the new Corporate Yard, the Amazon Edge project at the <br />Santa Ana Zoo, the Bristol Reservoir expansion, three new soccer fields at Centennial Park, <br />and the Santa Ana Main Library vehicle entryway. He also showed slides demonstrating the <br />accomplishments of the Public Works Agency in eliminating deferred maintenance by major <br />infrastructure category, such as sidewalks, streets, and street lights. <br /> <br />CIP REVENUE SOURCES <br /> <br />Public Works Agency Transportation Manager Joyce Amerson reviewed the major funding <br />sources for CIP projects including such funds as Community Development Block Grant, tax <br />increment, Measure M, gas tax, and transportation area fees. Amerson explained the type of <br />improvements eligible under each funding source, presented a chart depicting CIP revenues <br />for the period FY86/87 - FY93/94, and responded to Councilmembers' questions. <br /> <br />FY94/95 CIP PROJECTS <br /> <br />Public Works Agency Transportation Analyst Manuel Gomez discussed CIP projects planned <br />for FY 94/95 and responded to Councilmembers' questions. As a result of Council's <br />expressed interest, staff prepared a list of "Issue Bin" items for further discussion at future <br />Council meetings which includes but is not limited to: <br /> <br /> - tree replacement on Willit Street between Raitt and Fairview; <br /> <br /> sidewalk installation on King Street in 1994; <br /> <br /> - alley reconstruction in Henninger Park; <br /> <br /> street improvements including medians on 17th Street between Cabrillo Drive <br /> and Tustin; <br /> <br /> median design for Harbor Boulevard; <br /> <br /> - property acquisition at 1st Street and Grand Avenue; <br /> <br /> - property acquisition at 1st and Main Streets; and <br /> <br /> landscaping improvements along Interstate 5 widening project. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES 108 MAY 2, 1994 <br /> <br /> <br />
