Phil Schaefer, Heide Radisay, and Brenda <br />Caballero opposed the program and noted that realtors are currently <br />required to disclose many of the conditions that the pre -sale inspection <br />program would include. Council discussion ensued. Mayor Pro Tern <br />Bist and Councilmember Christy expressed the need for the pre -sale <br />inspection program; Mayor Pro Tern Bist noted that realtors have <br />expressed opposition but have not offered any solutions to the <br />problems created by illegal property uses or illegal construction. <br />Some Councilmembers expressed concern that the pre -sale inspection <br />program may not be the right approach. Councilmember Bustamante <br />stated that he believed that problems were much greater in certain <br />parts of the City. Councilmember Alvarez noted that it was important <br />to keep communications open with realtors.
