Amend the contract with Galls, an ARAMARK Company LLC, for body armor <br />vests in the amount of $20,000 for an annual amount not to exceed <br />$67,051. <br /> <br />2. Award a contract to Galls, an ARAMARK Company LLC, for body armor vests <br />for a three-year period, with provision for two, one-year renewals in <br />an annual amount not to exceed $45,997i and increase the aggregate <br />limit for miscellaneous supplies in an amount not to exceed $20,000 <br />annually. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION <br /> <br />Police officers are required to wear body armor vests while performing <br />their field job duties for protection and safety. The Police Department <br />requires replacement of a vest prior to the expiration of its warranty <br />period and anticipates replacement of 75 vests over the next year. <br /> <br />The notice inviting bids was advertised July 3 and 5, 2006, and bids were <br />solicited. A summary of the bid invitations and bids received is as <br />follows: <br /> <br />15 Invitations For Bid mailed <br />1 Invitation For Bid mailed to a Santa Ana vendor <br />3 Bids received <br /> <br />Bids were received and opened July 24, 2006 (Exhibit 1). The bid received <br />from Galls, an ARAMARK Company LLC, is responsive to the specification and <br />meets the City's requirements.
