.,

~
~

Top(jgraphic Base
a) Aerial

GPS and conventional surveys.

iii) Generate aerial topographic mapping of a 600 foot wide strip centered on Bristol Street from
300 feet South of McFadden Ave to 300 feet North of Pine St (4,000 If ,,). Mapping will be
at a scale of I" ~ 40' wirh a I-foot contour interval and include a DTM.

b) Cross-Sections: Collect augmenting cross-sections of the existing street roadway of Bristol and side
streets (0 be closed by cul-de-sacs at an approximate interval of 50 feet.

4. Topographic Augmentarion: Perform detailed topographic surveys ftom ptoposed R/W to Ptoposed R/W and as
required by design criteria Qoins, complex existing conditions or improvement, e.tc.)

5. Record Mapping:

a) Analyze retrieved record maps and assessors maps.

b) Generate cenrerlines, rights-oE-way, and boundary lines from said maps using field surveyed centerline
monumentation.

Task C: Project Base Sheets

Base sheets will be prepared in Microsrarion format using a combination of the topographic survey data collected
in Task B and the previously prepared Bristol Streer Storm Drain plans, ftom McFadden Avenue to Third Street
(see Exhibit 2, elsewhere in this proposal), complete with electronic utility detection survey information, which
shows the horizontal and vertical locations of all of the existing utilities within the project reach (accurate to within
6-inches +/-).

The Harris Team will field walk and photo-document the project limits. The number of anticipated projecr
base sheets that will be prepared during this task is detailed later in the construction document phase, would be
prepared ar eirher I" ~ 20' scale or I" ~ 40' scale based on rhe improvement type and complexity and will include
the following:

. Dimensions, labels and match lines

Street centerline, stationing and street names
Locarion of surface topographic fearures within rhe proposed R/W
Location of surface and sub-surface utilities
Existing right-of-way locations from record maps and assessor's maps

.

.

.

.

Task D: Geotechnical Investigation

Leighton Consulting will begin their Geotechnical Investigation by gathering and reviewing previous geotechnical
studies in the project area, as obtained from the City, in-house geologic maps and various other sources. Then they
will perform the following tasks:

. Perform surface evaluation of onsite soil characteristics, general condition of the project area

. Obtain a permit from OC Division of Environmental Health due to anticipated presence of shallow
groundwater in borings.

= I Harris & Associates.

Bristol Corridor Widening - Phase I
Page-IO-
