There will likely be several design alternatives at various locations
throughout the project, with the intent of minimizing or consolidating impacts on existing properties. such as
considering symmetrical cul-de-sac bulbs versus a cul-de-sac bulbs with an off-set to one side.

The Harris Team will work closely with City staff to developing a sound conceprual alignment that incorporates all
of the various city goals to enhance vehicular and pedestrian circulation as well as significantly the improve project
area aesthetics. It will be an iterative process between meetings with City staff and office time spent at Harris
working to prepare and refine the detailed conceptual alignment until it meers with the City's approval.

A presentation worthy colored exhibit will ultimately be prepared to clearly illustrate the various design elements
and layouts for City staff's use at various city council, planning and community meetings. Once City staff has
approved the conceptual alignment we will be well positioned to make simultaneous progtess on all of the project
design elements at an accelerated pace.

ca,

~". .~.

Task C. Hydrology and Hydraulics Study Refinements

For the proposed storm drain laterals and catch basins, Harris will refine the previously prepared hydrology &
hydraulics study for the Bristol Street Storm Drain plans, from McFadden Avenue to Third Street. As part of that
study, Harris already confirmed the existing tributary areas during a detailed field review and prepared a detailed
hydrology map (see Exhibit 3, elsewhere in this proposal). Calculations will be performed to confirm the resulting
street flooding widrhs along widened Bristol Srreet to establish the required locations and sizes of the proposed
and catch basins will also be prepared that extends from the storm drain connection point at McFadden to most
upstream tributary area at 5th Street. A stub-out at the upstream end of the proposed storm drain may also be
required if tributary flows from 5th Street to 3rd Street so require.

Harris & Associares will use the "WSPG" computer program to model the hydraulics of the proposed storm drain
laterals in conformance with City and County design criteria and will utilize a downstream HGL control prepared
in the previous mainline storm drain project.

It is our understanding that the City does not presently utilize catch basin filter inserts, such as "Fossil Filters" , to
intercept debris from "first flush" flows, rhus they are not anticipated to be part of this project. However, should
this requirement change Harris & Associates has extensive experience in implementing these extra water quality
measures.

l1arris & Associates will present the lateral storm drain refinement as an "Addendum" to the original Hydrology &
Hydraulics Report that was prepared for the mainline storm drain.

Task D: Develop Project Elements

Once City staff has approved the conceptual alignment the entire Harris Team will perform a comprehensive
review of information obtained, hold an in-house kick-off meeting and second City staff kick-off meeting with all
of the project playets. Each of the team members will develop a comprehensive preliminaty design that addresses
the following:

_I Harris & Associates.

Bristol Corridor Widening - Phase I
Page-12-
