<br />c <br /> <br />(. <br /> <br />(j <br /> <br />Thomas Land Clearing Co. <br />March 17, 2006 <br />2.1 BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF FIRM <br /> <br />City of Santa Ana <br />Demolition Services <br /> <br />Thomas Land Clearing Company (TLC) has been <br />providing demolition, asbestos abatement, lead based <br />paint removal and new construction services since <br />1987. liC has years of experience in hard demolition <br />doing various types of projects ranging from interior <br />tear- outs to land clearing. The total value of <br />demolition projects completed by the firm since 1992 <br />exceed $ 40 million. TLC was among the first <br />contractors to begin clean-up efforts in the City of Los <br />Angeles after the civil unrest in 1992. The company <br />was also instrumental in dismantling and cleaning up debris on the freeway systems damaged <br />during the Northridge earthquake of 1994. Numerous awards and certificates of appreciation <br />from clients have recognized the level of performance by TLC and its owner, Mr. Willie A. <br />Thomas, <br /> <br />TLC's corporate work history includes many complex demolition projects, such as: <br /> <br />1) The dismantling of major Los Angeles River railroad bridge, Long Beach, for the U.S. <br />Army Corps of Engineers; <br /> <br />2) A four-story hospital facility of 330,000 SF immediately adjacent to a Spinal Cord Injury <br />Ward for the U.S. Department of Veterans' Affairs, V AMC Long Beach, CA; <br /> <br />3) A four-story office building situated between an occupied chiIdcare facility and a Red <br />Line light rail transportation station for the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transit <br />Authority. <br /> <br />TLC is a 2004 graduate of the United States Small Business Administration 8(a) Program, is a <br />certified veteran-owned company, has had a HUB Zone certification since September of 2000 <br />and is also certified as a small, minority owned business by Caltrans, the MTA, OCTA, Los <br />Angeles County, and the City of Los Angeles. Clients include the Army Corps of Engineers, the <br />U.S. Air Force, U.S. Navy, U.S, Marine Corps, and the U.S. Departments of Labor and Veterans <br />Affairs. TLC has also worked with various state and local agencies as well as with private sector <br />clients. <br /> <br />A California Corporation in good standing with the State of California Secretary of State, TLC's <br />Corporate Headquarters is located at 2 I 70 West Esther Street, Long Beach, CA. <br /> <br />Depending upon the scope of demolition tasks underway, the firm's employment ranges from <br />seven (7) employees to more than 50 full time staff members. <br /> <br />For the past 18 years, TLC's cornerstone of their business practice is one of quality and service; <br />TLC takes tremendous pride in having successfully completed all their contracts.
