<br />Contract Award for Mobile Computer System <br />September 5, 2006 <br />Page 2 <br /> <br />As part of the risk mitigation strategy, this project is designed for <br />phased implementation. The first phase involves the installation of <br />mobile data computers with the air cards in all City of Santa Ana police <br />vehicles, testing the ability to share data with the Santa Ana Fire <br />Department. Subsequent phases will involve expanding the use to other <br />areas. <br /> <br />The City Council adopted Ordinance No. NS-2312 authorizing the City to <br />purchase against contracts with other government agencies utilizing a <br />competitive bid process. Garden Grove was awarded a contract for mobile <br />computer systems as a result of an open, competitive process, and meets the <br />City's requirements.
