Adopt a resolution authorizing the submittal of a grant application in <br />the amount of $75,000 to the California State Parks Habitat <br />Conservation Fund Program for the McFadden Triangle Restoration <br />Project. <br /> <br />2. Adopt a resolution authorizing the submittal of a grant <br />the amount of $60,000 to the California State <br />Conservation Fund Program for the Cienega de las <br />Restoration Project at Thornton Park. <br /> <br />application in <br />Parks Habitat <br />Ranas Habitat <br /> <br />3. Approve the Negative Declaration for each of the above listed <br />projects. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION <br /> <br />The Habitat Conservation Fund Program was established under the <br />California Wildlife Protection Act of 1990 and provides funds for <br />enhancement and restoration of riparian habitats throughout the State. <br />Approximately $3 million will be available this funding cycle. The <br />application requires a 50-percent match of non-State money. Applications <br />are due on October 2, 2006. <br /> <br />The McFadden Triangle has been identified as an opportunity site in the <br />Santa Ana River Vision Plan. The proposed project will provide additional <br />riparian habitat at a site adjacent to the Santa Ana River.
