<br />Exhibit B <br />S1-V-07 <br />haye successful completion of training, followed by successful placement into <br />unsubsidized employment and retention. Contractor shall monitor customer <br />time and attendance in all training actiyities. <br /> <br />b) On-the-Job Training (OJT) contracts may be developed under this agreement <br />with an employer in the public, priyate non-profit, or priyate-for-profit sector. <br />Through the OJT contract, occupational training will be proyided to WIA <br />participants in exchange for reimbursement of up to 50 percent of the wage rate <br />to compensate for the employer's extraordinary costs. Contractor shall <br />reimburse employer for services proYided under the on-the-job training contract <br />directly from their program budget. If funds haye not been allocated to this line <br />item, a budget modification may be requested to moye funds to coyer <br />reimbursement costs to the training proYider. <br />i. Contractor shall not contract with an employer who has preYiously exhibited <br />a pattern of failing to proYide OJT partiCipants with continued long-term <br />employment with wages, benefits, and working conditions that are equal to <br />those proYided to regular employees who haye worked a similar length of <br />time and are doing the same type of work. <br />ii. The OJT boiler plate document to be used for training shall be approved by <br />the Santa Ana Workforce Inyestment Board prior to its first use. <br /> <br />c) Contractor will also proYide, either in-house, or through referral, classroom <br />training, remedial education, adult education, ROP, literacy and bilingual <br />training, and institutional skills training. <br /> <br />d) Contractor shall seek other non-WIA funded training, whenever possible, and <br />shall use Pell Grants to offset WIA funds where applicable. <br /> <br />c. PHASE 3: EMPLOYMENT RE-ENTRY PHASE <br /> <br />1) Contractor will work with recently-separated Veteran customers to ensure their <br />resume is updated with information about recently-acquired training and <br />employment experience. <br /> <br />2) Contractor will work with Veterans to prepare them to interview successfully and <br />to follow-up with the Veteran after the interview to proYide feedback on how to <br />strengthen verbal responses to interview questions. <br /> <br />3) Contractor will proYide job deyelopment services to assist the Veterans in <br />obtaining meaningful, gainful employment that allows the participant to attain <br />financial independence and successful integration into the community. <br />Contractor will work with area businesses to identify employment opportunities <br />for Veterans in particular companies that target the recruitment of Veterans and <br />are supportiye of their continued actiye reserve duty. <br /> <br />4) After job placement, the Contractor shall assist the Veteran and their respectiye <br />employers with job retention. Contractor shall proYide follow-up actiYities a <br />minimum of one time per month and document any service proYided in the case <br /> <br />Page 6 of 11 <br />
