Deny Amendment Application 95-008. <br /> (ORDINANCE NS-2281 - Not adopted) <br /> <br />MOTION: Richardson <br /> <br />VOTE: AYES: <br /> NOES: <br /> <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> SECOND: Moreno <br /> <br />Espinoza, Lutz, Mills, Moreno, Pulido, Richardson <br />McGuigan <br /> <br /> FILE CA <br /> <br />COMMENTS <br /> <br />90.A. <br /> <br />PUBLIC COMMENTS <br /> <br />The following persons spoke regarding preservation and protection of the Dr. Howe-Waffle <br />House, a Downtown historic building, and requested the City to negotiate the purchase of the <br />Howe-Waffle site on behalf of the Santa Ana Historic Preservation Society at the Orange County <br />property sale scheduled for January 10, 1996: <br /> <br />Diann Marsh <br />Scott Morgan <br />David Ewing <br />Miles Leach <br />Ed Cot6 <br />Todd Walsh <br />Sandra Thrower <br />Nathan Reed <br />Bruce Sinclair <br /> <br />Robert Politiski, representing the First Presbyterian Church located adjacent to the Howe-Waffle <br />site, expressed interest in the site for possible uses affiliated with the Church's mission, and <br />reported two letters had been sent to the Council outlining the Church's position. <br /> <br />Councilmember Mills requested staffto place the Santa Ana Historic Preservation Society's <br />request on the February 5 Council Agenda for Council approval. She volunteered to work with <br />the Presbyterian Church to identify other Downtown sites for Church use. <br /> <br />Councilmember Moreno suggested the Historic Preservation Society be allowed to file a late <br />application for FY 95-96 Community Development Block Grant funds to help with the purchase <br />of the Howe-Waffle site. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES 16 JANUARY 2, 1996 <br /> <br /> <br />
