8:53 P.M. - Councilmember Moreno rejoined the meeting <br /> <br />90.B. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL COMMENTS <br /> <br />In response to Councilmember Espinoza's inquiry, Public Works Agency Executive Director Jim <br />Ross indicated the Agency would repair a pothole near Raitt and Pine Street in the coming week. <br /> <br />Espinoza recounted the details of a drunk driving accident and arrest he had witnessed and asked <br />that Park Ranger Sam Washington and Police Sergeant Kopich be commended for their <br />performance at the incident. <br /> <br />Councilmember Mills encouraged the listening audience to attend the upcoming Floral Park Home <br />and Garden Tour on April 20-21. Mills also requested development in the Mid-Town area of <br />Main Street and the City's vision for the Main Street Corridor be included as discussion items at <br />the study session on street deterioration fees. <br /> <br />Mayor Pro Tern Richardson reported on two recent episodes of effective Police enforcement <br />against loud parties, urged the Police Department to be especially alert to this type of violation in <br />the summer months, and recounted his recent adventure with Councilmember Lutz directing <br />traffic at a fire following the celebration of the Moose Lodge anniversary. <br /> <br />In response to Councilmember McGuigan's inquiry, Police Chief Paul Walters indicated the <br />Police Department stood ready to assist the Post Office with traffic caused by late federal income <br />tax filers. <br /> <br />Councilmember Moreno requested: <br /> <br />- resolutions addressing solicitation of bids for contracts over $10,000 <br /> and a $50 limit on contributions to political action committees be <br /> provided for Council's consideration at the next Council meeting; <br /> <br />- the repair schedule for Fairhaven Avenue between Tustin and Grand <br /> Avenues; <br /> <br />- the Police Department monitor possible resurgence of cruising along <br /> Bristol Street; and <br /> <br />- staffprovide him with a rental bill for the City equipment he had borrowed <br /> for his daughter's recent birthday party. <br /> <br />Mayor Pulido requested a copy of the memo provided to him by the Police Department regarding <br />the El Comal restaurant, urged staffto continue providing timely updates of site plan review <br />activity, commented on the successful Chamber of Commerce Awards banquet he had recently <br />attended, and commended the Chamber on its new "Vision Santa Ana" program. <br /> <br />CLOSED SESSION - ROOM 147 - 9:07 P.M. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES 142 <br /> <br />APRIL 15, 1996 <br /> <br /> <br />
