COMMENTS <br /> <br />Alberta Christy advised the Council of an upcoming Community Job Fair sponsored by the Valley <br />High Neighborhood Association at Centennial Park on May 18, 1996 between 10:00 a.m. and <br />2:00 p.m., encouraged the listening audience and Council to attend, and invited small business <br />owners to advertise their job openings at the Fair by calling (714) 667-2266. <br /> <br />90.B. CITY COUNCIL COMMENTS <br /> <br />Councilmember Espinoza: <br /> <br /> - requested staff assist Suszan Ales with her request regarding use of <br /> the Rancho Santiago College pool; <br /> <br /> - suggested a flood insurance application be forwarded to impacted residents <br /> with the water bills; <br /> <br /> - thanked the Public Works Agency for the timely repair of the pothole <br /> he had reported at the April 15 Council meeting. <br /> <br />Councilmember Lutz: <br /> <br /> - congratulated Police Chief Paul Walters concerning the recent reductions <br /> in crime statistics; <br /> <br /> - reported the "dinosaurs," a popular exhibit, were back at MainPlace Mall; <br /> <br /> - invited the listening audience to attend the Spurgeon Clock Tower resetting <br /> on May 17, 1996 and the open house to follow at the Santora Building; <br /> <br /> - asked staff to see that weeds are removed from the federal courthouse <br /> construction site; and <br /> <br /> - expressed support for use of the College pool by neighborhood children. <br />Councilmember Richardson: <br /> <br /> - reiterated support for College pool use by the neighborhood; <br /> <br /> - suggested interested citizens might donate bicycles to the Elks Club (which <br /> was refurbishing them for a Bike-A-Thon for the Boys and Girls Club) by <br /> calling (714) 224-9068; <br /> <br /> - commended the Police Chief on the reduced crime statistics and requested <br /> a presentation on STOP (Street Terrorist Offender Program) at a future <br /> Council meeting; <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES 168 MAY 6, 1996 <br /> <br /> <br />
