b. All trash and debris shall be removed from all worksites a minimum <br />of one (1) time per week. <br />c. The Contractor shall rake, hand remove, or vacuum leaves that are <br />not absorbed by planting. This shall be done as often as required to <br />maintain a neat appearance, or prevent plants from being smothered <br />by seasonal leaf drop at least weekly or as directed by Director. <br />d. After heavy windstorms, the entire contract area shall be cleaned of <br />litter, fallen branches, etc. Contractor shall respond to calls from <br />City staff immediately. Contractor shall patrol all areas durin <br />heavy windstorms for trees down, fallen branches, hanging branches, <br />debris, and other potential hazards. <br />e. The Contractor shall keep sidewalks and all paved areas in the <br />medians and under overpasses swept and cleaned of any debris, <br />weeds, dirt or soil. Tree wells shall be maintained weed free. <br />H. OTHER REQUIREMENTS <br />1) Replacement of Plant Material <br />a. The Contractor shall notify the Director within forty eight (48) hours <br />of the loss of plant material due to any cause. <br />b. The Contractor shall, at no cost to City, remove shrub, turf or ground <br />cover, which is damaged or lost due to any cause. The size and <br />species of replacement shrubs, turf or ground cover plants shall be as <br />directed by the Director <br />c. In order to ensure maximum healthy growth and overall aesthetic <br />appearance of planting in the work area, it may be desirable to <br />replace certain plants. The necessity or desirability of such plant <br />replacement shall be determined by the Director. <br />d. The Contractor shall replace, at Contractor's own expense, any turf, <br />ground cover, shrubs, or other plant material requiring replacement <br />through normal attrition or due to infestation or to negligence <br />resulting from Contractor's failure to provide maintenance in <br />accordance with the provisions of this agreement. It is the intention <br />of the City to require a high level of quality in landscape <br />maintenance compatible with standard practice as determined by the <br />Director. <br />2) New Construction <br />a. Where new construction or redevelopment may involve a significant <br />part of a work site, the Director may delete a portion of or the entire <br />work site from contractual maintenance during the construction and <br />26 <br />
