During these repairs
areas of leakage were discovered in several secondary components that will require an
underground access for component replacement or repair not discovered or included in
the original proposal. The following information is provided that will outline those
construction type repairs for ea(:h tan~ systerh. This work will require plans, permits
and approval by the Santa Ana Fire oept. ' '

FUEL ISLAND
The unleaded and diesel under dispenser containment (UOC) boxes source of leakage
was identified on the base of the component. Prior year's repairs by others utilized
Vulkem, a flexible sealant to cover the base of these UDC's that are coming apart. This
type of repair is no longer allowed by SWRCB and the local CUPA. Repla(:ement of
these two UOC's is the most cost effective approa(:h for a permanent type repair.
This is a permitted type underground repair that will be included with the fiberglass
repairs to the diesel turbine and fill containment sumps. This installation will also
eliminate the constant water intrusion during the raining seclson and area wash downs
that result in false alarms.

,

Scope of Work
~ Prepare plans, drawings, regUlatory agency permit applications and submit for
approval
~ Obtain plan approvals for permits from required agencies
~ COntact USA Dig Alert mark out areas of excavation .
~ Provide safety baniers if needed in conStruction areas to prevent cross traffic in
construction areas
<> Purge all product lines; disconnect piping and electrical connections at each
dispenser
<> Remove existing (2) dispensers

'x....;....

961.677.0704 Fax 951.698.5436 888.293.5944

ATTACHMENT 1
