PUBLIC COMMENTS <br /> <br />Brian Bist presented a number of suggestions regarding the South Main Street Corridor such as <br />requiring the removal of residential uses and business facades that had been added to residences <br />on Main Street. Mayor Pulido requested he put his suggestions in writing and forward them to <br />the Council. <br /> <br />Leah DuPont encouraged the Council and staffto investigate Long Beach's 2nd Street <br />commercial area as an additional source of ideas for development &the South Main Commercial <br />District. <br /> <br />Jim Kendrick noted a number of"cobra" street lights along Main needed painting and suggested a <br />number of possible landscaping improvements such as using plants in urns. <br /> <br />CLOSED SESSION <br /> <br />The Brown Act permits the City Council to discuss certain matters without members of the public <br />present, provided the items to be discussed are posted 72 hours prior to the City Council meeting. <br />The following items were received for the August 19, 1996 Closed Session. <br /> <br />95.A. <br /> <br />CONFERENCE WITH LABOR NEGOTIATOR (G.C.
